The Xoloitzcuintli (pronounced 'show-low-eats-QUEENT-lee'), also known as the Mexican Hairless Dog, is a serene and vigilant breed that dates back over 3,000 years. This breed comes in three sizes—toy, miniature, and standard—and two varieties: hairless and coated. The hairless Xolo has tough, smooth skin, while the coated variety boasts a short, flat coat. Their colors range from black and gray-black to red, liver, and bronze. Known for their thoughtful and intelligent expressions, Xolos often have a wrinkled forehead when deep in thought.
