Borzoi

Among the most impressively beautiful of all dogs, the aristocratic Borzoi is cherished for its calm and agreeable temperament. These elegant sighthounds, once known as Russian Wolfhounds, were bred to be swift and tough, capable of pursuing and pinning ferocious quarry. With a height of at least 28 inches and weighing between 75 to 105 pounds for males, Borzois are large yet graceful. Their luxurious, silky, curly coat adds to their majestic appearance. Despite their size, they are affectionate and gentle family dogs, though their dignified nature means they prefer a more serene environment over rough play. Borzois have a strong prey drive and need ample fenced-in space to run safely. Training them requires patience and consistency due to their cat-like independence. With a lifespan of around 12 years, these stately dogs are a joy for those who appreciate their unique blend of strength, grace, and elegance.
